Meet the Panelists
Samantha Campbell
Samantha is a philanthropist, conservationist, and filmmaker. Much of her dedicated work and philanthropy has focused on protecting MPAs along the California coast. She is President of The Campbell Foundation.
She lives in San Francisco and has served 12 years as Trustee of Monterey Bay Aquarium. She dedicates her filmmaking work to projects that elevate stories of human achievement, the environment, community, and the arts.
Dr. Gerardo Ceballos
Author of Before They Vanish and The Annihilation of Nature, Gerardo is an award-winning ecologist and conservationist specializing in jaguar conservation and global extinction.
Working at UNAM Mexico and Stanford, he has authored 52 books and is among the select few Latin American scientists elected to the prestigious U.S. National Academy of Sciences. He recently won the BBVA Foundation Award for his efforts to protect over 2% of the country's last wild spaces and create its first Endangered Species Act.
Jeff Morgan
Jeff is the founder and Executive Director of Global Conservation, which is focused on saving our most important and endangered national parks in developing countries. Combining Global Park Defense systems, Community, and Marine Protection, Global Conservation has helped protect over 25 endangered national parks, covering nearly 12 million acres of intact forests and wildlife habitats. His life goal is to help protect 100 of the most endangered national parks in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Eurasia—both land and marine.

The crowd watched on with great interest as GC Executive Director gave an inspiring presentation about our new “War on Nature” series and GC’s business model for implementing the Global Park Defense program in developing countries around the world.

A panel of conservationists discussed global park, animal, and indigenous community protection in underdeveloped countries in the evening.

Global Conservation is raising $100 million over the next 10 years to protect more than 100 of the most endangered national parks in developing countries. Combining its signature Global Park Defense systems, community protection, and marine protection, Global Conservation has helped protect more than 25 endangered national parks, covering nearly 12 million acres of intact forests and wildlife habitats.
